The expereince of the author is mixed, with some PC's showing significant improvement, while on others it appears to have had very limited effect.

After much fanfare, Microsoft has finally released the first Service Pack for Windows Vista. It supposedly includes many performance enhancements and fixes that have been requested by users since the products initial release.
