K2 Split Content

K2 is an incredibly powerful and flexible extension that allows for stunning control of your Joomla content.  This module is based on the standard K2 content display module.  Rather than display all items with a category/tag, this module displays content that is associated with the currently viewed K2 item.

This means that there is no need to create or modify a K2 template to be able to display item content differently.  You can position selected K2 content in a module position rather than in the content area.  The module supports multiple instances on a single page which means you can now display selected content wherever you want on the page.

Version 2.0.5

Released: 20th March 2013

  • Fixed: Additional Fields now work with K2 2.63 and above
  • Fixed: Author fields now display independently of the Author Name

Version 2.0.3

Released: 10th March 2012

  • Added: Author name appears under Avatar
  • Added: Author text "Written By" is optional
  • Added: Additional Fields title is optional
  • Added: Made Additional Field title BOLD
  • Fixed: Rename fields in XML for Additional Fields to work (NOTE: You MUST edit and save the module after installing this update for the changes to take effect)

VERSION 2.0.2

Released: 5th March 2012

    • Fixed: Wrong link used in Attachments section

Version 2.0.1

Released: 2nd March 2012

  • Fixed: Language File support completed
  • Added: Joomla 1.5 compatibility
  • Added: Ability to hide the "Tags by Related Items" heading

The module will not currently display Video. An update will be posted once this is resolved.

Hello!

It seems that there are some problems with k2 v2.6.2 Extra fields aren't displayed anymore.

Other parts of module work great.

Hmmm, it would appear that the changes they made to K2 have created an issue for this module.

Can you please lodge a support ticket here and I'll investigate: -

Sorry If double posting.

I wanted to suggest an option not to display all additional fields, but some of them (by specifying fields ID perhaps).

Nice idea, but sadly, additional fields aren't accessible via ID yet.

It enables you to show content from the currently selected K2 item in a module position. Check the right-hand column of this page -Related Items normally show within the content area, but they can be displayed in any module position.

For further info, lodge a support ticket by using the red button in the right-hand column.

Interesting. I didn't make any changes that should have effected the video section ... hmmm, ah well, I ain't knocking it if it's fixed.
Edit k2_split_conten t/tmpl/Default/ default.php and delete line 97 (It should be
)

That will fix it.

Hi Mark,

Finally the missing module :)

Great Job, it works perfectly. I just submitted a ticket with a couple of suggestions to enhance: Add the related item's image and get rid of the original title since the module has its own title.

Thanks very much

Eyal

Hello,

I'm not sure how this module works. I enabled it and used
{loadposition} tag.

But the module just loads content of extra fields.

how could I choose what gets loaded ?

Hi Mark.

This is a great module. I really appriciate your development of this one. It's of great use together with K2. It makes K2 so much more complete.

I would suggest some additions to upcoming releases.
Most important is to have the option to show image gallery. I would also like to se the option to show ratings.
Another great feature would be the option to hide/show "additional info" when choosing to show extra fields.

Thanks again - it's great!
